How to Ask for a Miracle (And Receive It)

solo episodes w/ julie

In this solo episode, Julie shares a powerful true story from Joan Wester Anderson’s book, “Guardian Angels: True Stories of Answered Prayers,” about a mother who surrenders her accident-prone son to God and the angels, leading to his miraculous rescue from a frozen river. Julie connects this story to the core spiritual lesson that miracles happen when we stop relying solely on our logical minds and instead approach God and our angels with childlike faith, asking for help sooner. She also opens up about her own recent need for a miracle during her daughter Elle’s spinal surgery, offering a raw and hopeful perspective on trusting in a divine plan we cannot fully see.

(0:26 – 0:50)

Welcome to the Angels and Awakening Podcast. I’m your angel medium, Julie Jancis, and today we’re sharing your angel stories. Why do our angels and loved ones above show us signs? Yes, they want us to know they’re okay and at peace, but deeper than that, they want us to connect with them so that they can help us more from the other side.

(0:51 – 1:04)

Friends, it all begins with your intuition, vibration, and experiencing oneness. Your intuition is your soul’s voice. It’s also how your loved ones talk to you from heaven.

(1:04 – 3:10)

In this podcast, we teach you how to turn up the volume on your intuition so that you can hear their loving messages more clearly. We also teach you how to raise your vibration and feel your oneness with all that is. Friends, you are here to love, give love, receive love, be love, radiate love.

And because your soul is love, all you really ever have to do is just be. Hello, beautiful souls. Welcome back to the Angels and Awakening Podcast.

I’m your host author, Julie Jancis. Friends, we just got home. I’m recording this on Wednesday, November 19th.

Just got home from New York. I am back in my podcast studio, which is an absolute disaster and I need to clean very much. So if Lulu, my doggy, walks across papers, my paper piles that are on the floor, please excuse her.

I love you so much and thank you so much for your prayers. I plan on doing a podcast episode that you can hear on Monday where I just talk about so many signs that we got while we were in New York City. So that’ll be on Monday, but I went down to let Lulu out this morning.

We got home yesterday. I heard the angels say, you need to record the podcast episode for Thursday. So they said, go upstairs.

You actually already have one that would be perfect. So I went upstairs. On my podcasting chair, there’s this book, Guardian Angels, True Stories of Answered Prayers by Joan Wester Anderson.

And you know, her publisher has given me permission to read a couple of stories out of each book. And so this one is called When Mom and the Angels Join Forces. So I read through it and I was like, oh my gosh, this is like so incredibly perfect for today.

(3:11 – 4:59)

And the lesson that the angels want you to take in is that I could start crying again. You know, miracles are miracles because we don’t see a way, right? Like we don’t see a way to the possibility. We just know that God, universe, source can move mountains, can create miracles, can get us to what it is that we want or need in the moment without us knowing how, right? Like our logical minds want to come in and be like, okay, well, this is what you need to do.

A plus B equals C. And when there’s a miracle that’s needed, you can’t figure out that path or that road. You just have no logical way of putting it together within your mind. And that’s when you go, you know, God, universe, source, I need a miracle here.

And as I’ve done this work over the last 10 years with you working one-on-one with you, what I have found is that myself and so many of us at the beginning are very hesitant in going to God. You know, I think a lot of us were taught when we were younger kids, you know, don’t go to your parents, don’t go to get help unless you really need help, right? Be self-sufficient, do as much as you can on your own. And then, you know what? If you do need us, then come to us, right? I think a lot of us were even taught that with doctors, like don’t go to the doctor right away, just wait and see if your body can figure it out.

(4:59 – 9:13)

And then if you need to go to the doctor, go. And so we take a lot of this concept from various different places. Remember being inside the classroom in elementary school or middle school and the teacher being like, don’t come up into the teacher’s desk and ask the teacher a question unless you’ve really tried to figure it out yourself.

I think that we take this misconception and we place it with God, universe, source, and the angels and our spirit team as well, right? Where we’re like, okay, well, I should try and figure this out first with my logical mind. So we’re trying to in our own lives, like figure everything out. And there’s some times where you go, there is no way.

There is no possible way for me to get from where I’m standing in my life right now to where I need to be, or where my family needs to be, or where my child needs to be. And you go to God and you go, I have no clue. I have no clue.

And what God and the angels always say is come to us sooner. You do not need to process things through your logical mind. You do not need to find the way.

Faith, belief, this trust have so much of it within you. And this is where we can be childlike, right? Go to God for everything that you need. And as I’m saying this, the angels are bringing through this vision of when you’re a toddler, you don’t bring in that logical mind as much, right? Because it hasn’t been socialized out of you yet.

So when you are itty bitty, you’re 18 months old, 24 months, you know, a toddler, you don’t try and fix and solve everything with your logical mind. Before you go to your parent, you just go to your parent or you go to your teacher at preschool or wherever, you know, daycare, wherever you’re at, you just go to them and you go, I need help. I need help.

I have no idea what to do. And the teacher helps, right? You think of a little toddler who’s like trying to get their glove on and it’s not going on and they just raise their hand, you know, and look at you with these eyes of like, okay, I need help. I can’t get the glove on my hands.

And they don’t even try very hard, right? They just lift it up and you help it with them. Or you ever see a toddler where they just lift both of their arms up to you. Like they just want up.

They just want to be held. That is what God, Universe Source and our angels want from us more. I’m so grateful to those who keep this show going through your support.

Now let’s get back to the show. You don’t have to even sit there and bang your head against the wall and try and figure it out and try and get to the solution before going to God. Just go to God with everything.

(9:14 – 10:30)

And I think the more that we do this, the more that the answers come to us with ease, just like this morning. Okay. I totally forgot that I need to get a podcast episode done for today.

God, what do you want me to do? Hey, it’s up on your chair. It’s literally up on your chair. Okay.

I’m just going to go read the story, right? And then I just start speaking and with the visions that come in and what I hear and what the angels are bringing to me, you just say it, just say it. So I want you to try that this week, this weekend, whatever you need, don’t even try and process it with your logical mind. Just go straight to God.

Just go straight to the angels and say, I need a miracle and let that be what it is. Okay. So this, um, chapter is called when mom and the angels join forces.

And it’s got a quote by Della Reese. If you don’t know who Della Reese was, she was an actress who was on the show back in the nineties called touch by an angel. I don’t see how, how I possibly could have come from where I entered the planet to where I am now.

(10:30 – 10:52)

If there had not been angels along the way, Ooh, that fits Darren. No, Daryl messenger of Byron, Illinois will admit that her son’s mere existence is proof that angels take care of us. For there are some children who are just naturally seem to gravitate towards trouble.

(10:53 – 12:02)

And Gary Therese had always been one of them. He was already walking, actually running by the time he was eight months old and the activity never ceased. When he was 18 months old, he fell on an aluminum folding chair and sliced his little face from cheek to treat across his nose.

Daryl remembers that was the first of many trips to the emergency room. When Gary was about six, he fell off his mini bike, wearing only a pair of summer shorts, slid down a gravel road on his tummy and narrowly missed impaling himself on a steel spike on the side of the road. The neighbors used, the neighbors used to this, picked him up and sent him home.

On two separate occasions while deer hunting, Gary climbed into his tree stand and promptly dozed off. He fell to the ground each time, breaking his shoulder. Given his love of demolition derby cars, which he built with his dad and his hunting and snowmobiling mishaps, Gary was a regular at the doctor’s office.

(12:03 – 13:37)

Daryl had been divorced when Gary was a baby. And a few years later, she remarried the man Gary had always regarded as, as his father. Both adults were bewildered over their son’s constant mishaps.

Daryl never knew what kind of catastrophe Stitches, a cast, would greet her when she returned home from work. It certainly made life interesting, but Daryl sometimes felt guilty. Shouldn’t she be able to prevent some of these episodes? Amazingly, Gary survived his high school years despite two motorcycle accidents.

Through her constant prayers for her son’s health and safety, Daryl grew closer to God and eventually started going to church. During this time, she learned about angels. She knew they were supposed to guard us.

Could she possibly put them in charge of Gary? By now her adult son was an adult, but she still worried about his safety. One day I told God I was giving my son to him to care for because I could no longer watch and worry when the next accident would hit. She also asked God to surround her son with angels.

One winter night, a few months later, Gary went out with some of his buddies. It was 1 30 AM when he set out on his snowmobile for home. Gary rode this route often, even in the dark.

And although he had crossed a river to get home, he had to cross the river to get home. He wasn’t at all concerned. Have you guys ever done this? Okay, so I’m going to pause here because my dad was a huge snowmobile rider.

(13:37 – 15:09)

And so when I read this story, I was like, Oh, chills to the bone, right? Because if you ride snowmobiles, and you have ridden them with a daredevil man outside, it is scary as heck. And they don’t care. They will go over the ice.

So I remember being a little girl, we would go up state New York because my grandpa, Harris had a cabin in Minerva, New York, and there was a lake near there. And when we would go up, we would get the snowmobiles, we’d ride the snowmobiles all over in the meadow. And you know, just through these different tracks through the forest.

And then we would take the snowmobiles over to the lake. And we would ride the snowmobiles on the lake. Now my dad would just literally look at my sister and I when we were like, I mean, I’m not joking with you.

Maybe my sister was like four or five years old. And here I am four years older than that. So maybe like eight, nine.

And my dad would just be like, watch out for the black ice. Don’t go over the black ice. And I am scared to the bone, because I don’t know what I’m looking for.

My eyesight was terrible. I don’t even know if I had glasses yet. I couldn’t see anything.

I’ve had glasses since I was in third grade. I can’t see far. And so I’m like, look out for the black ice.

(15:10 – 19:19)

You know, first off, there’s this fresh batch of snow, you can’t even see where the black ice is sometimes. So this, this story really resonates, because if you’ve ever been around a daredevil man, they just do this type of crap all the time, right? Like they will go over, and they’ll they’ll ride on the ice. And you’re like, what is sane, rational human being does this? I don’t know, freak the heck out of me, right? I am definitely not a daredevil.

So here Gary is, and he’s not at all concerned about going over this river to get home at 1.30am on his snowmobile. So the book continues. Eventually, Gary saw the river ahead set into gently rolling hills and no doubt, and no doubt still frozen over.

So he was thinking to himself, okay, you know, the river still frozen, this is going to be a piece of cake. There was a bike path along the bridge that Gary could have crossed the river with. But as always, he preferred a challenge.

Oh my god, does this sound like my dad? revving the engine, he flew down the side of the hill, hoping again, to gain enough speed to cross the ice to a flat riverbank on the opposite side. But his strategy failed. Shaking my head over here.

For as he shot across the river, he realized that the spring thaw had already begun and the river ice was then, you know, too thin. To his horror, he reached the middle of the river and the ice gave way. He and his snowmobile started to sink.

Isn’t that like your worst nightmare? Like, right? Oh my god, who in their right mind goes across a riverbank on a snowmobile? So here Gary is going into the water. He’s tearing off his gloves and his helmet. I know that when we used to ride snowmobiles, my dad wouldn’t just have like a snowsuit.

Remember like snow bibs, where you would put on one foot in and the other foot in the snow pants. And then they had these suspenders that kind of went up over your shoulders. And then you had like this big old jacket.

My dad was so into being outside in the snow that he had entire, like the jacket was built into the snow pants. I can’t imagine trying to get something like that off or how you would possibly be in frozen water with all of that extra weight on you. To get to the other side, if you’re sinking in water in the middle of the night.

So here he is tearing off his glove, tearing off his helmet. And Gary’s struggling to swim. She said, it seemed impossible.

His heavy clothing was pulling him under the jagged ice. His snowmobile had disappeared. The water was so terribly cold and the riverbank seemed miles away.

He realized that he would die there. His mother would be heartbroken. Panicked, he again attempted to swim, but it was hard to see anything now that the snowmobile headlights had sunk.

Swim, swim, he told himself. You have to get out of here. Now this is where she puts these in quotes, right? Swim, swim, you have to get out of here.

This is your angel speaking to you. When you are in those moments and you are hearing that intuition within, that isn’t him, that is his intuition. Was that the bank right in front of him? Yes, but how had he gotten across the river? He was soaked all the way through, but still somehow afloat.

Gary grabbed for the bank, but it was covered with ice and his frozen hands kept slipping. But when he did get a grip, the ice would break and he would lose ground. Kicking, he tried to get closer, but he was exhausted and falling asleep now, sinking into the bitterly cold water, sinking.

(19:19 – 19:25)

Suddenly Gary awakened. He was standing up out of the water. He looked around in disbelief.

(19:25 – 19:54)

Had the accident been a dream? No, he was soaking wet, his teeth chattering, and standing on a snow covered hill that led right up to the highway. How had this happened? He was completely alone, so who could have pulled him out? Yet there was the highway and headlights were approaching. Gary staggered to the side of the road, waving his arms.

Seeing him, the driver pulled over. Son, he leaned out the window. Do you need help? At about 2.30 AM, Daryl’s husband answered the phone.

(19:55 – 24:44)

A friend of Gary’s wanted them to come to his house right away. Gary had had a snowmobile accident, but a kind truck driver had delivered him there. Daryl was adamant that the paramedics be called right away.

And Gary’s friend did just that. At first, the doctors thought he might lose a finger in his toes due to frostbite, Daryl says, but he didn’t and is now fully recovered. The following morning, Daryl drove past the spot where her son almost drowned.

Oh, isn’t this like a mama? One of Gary’s gloves had been lying out on the river embedded in the ice. There was no sign of the snowmobile. And in the snow, Daryl clearly saw two distinct sets of footprints leading from the river to the highway.

I knew then that the angels had lifted my son from the icy waters up onto that bank. And I know that the Lord walked right beside them, leading him to help. Recently, Gary damaged both of his ankles in a fall.

So Daryl admits that she cannot totally give up worrying about her son, especially one as active as he is. But when I find myself involved in these little nagging thoughts, I stop myself and I say, God, he is yours. Then I sent a sense of peace comes over me.

And I know that no matter what, God is safe. Gary is safe in God’s hands. She knows miracles happen every day.

I came up this morning and when I read that story, I just felt so thankful that the title was when mom and the angels joined forces, because that’s what I’ve been feeling all over this last year without. And I don’t know if I said this before on the podcast, forgive me. It’s been a very long, almost two weeks being out in New York City, um, for the surgery, but it’ll only take me about 30 seconds.

So, uh, I’ll, I’ll tell this again on Monday though, when Elle’s doctor came out of the surgery, you know, if your, your kid’s having surgery, you’re normally in like the parent’s waiting room, right? And the doctor comes out and is going to talk to you because your kid is probably with the nurses and still trying to wake up after the surgery. And they prepare your, your child a little bit before you can see them. So you’re spending some time talking to the doctor.

Well, the doctor came over and they said, um, Elle had a 100% fully tethered cord. And I just am so grateful to Elle’s angels, to my angels who were relentless this year, who didn’t give up that, you know, a lot of times we as human beings, part of being a human being is we want to see the entire picture all the time. I want to know exactly how everything turns out.

I want you to give me the entire picture. Um, but we don’t, you know, it’s almost like being a human being God on the other side sees the entire picture. I remember when I was a little girl, a spiritual teacher, um, used to say that it was like the Thanksgiving day parade and that God could see the parade from above, like in a helicopter point of view and could see exactly what streets the parade was going to go down and how it was going to turn out and all of the floats all at once.

But us as human beings, it’s like, we have this key hole perspective. We’re looking through a key hole at life and we are just seeing one teeny tiny perspective. Like you are on the floor at the Macy’s day Thanksgiving parade, and you can just see one float coming at a time, maybe a little bit of the next float coming a little bit of the float that just passed, but that’s our teeny tiny perspective, right? And that’s why we need the angel so much.

That’s why we need to put all of our faith, trust, belief in miracles, because we know that the angel see that God sees the entire picture and God and our angels and our spirit team can prepare our lives so that what we need when we need it shows up exactly. And, uh, so thank you so much friends. I just going to keep saying thank you.

Thank you. Thank you so much for your prayers for Elle. She’s doing fantastic.

(24:44 – 24:55)

We are just so incredibly proud of her. And, um, now we just pray for her continued healing. It’s a long process to figure out, you know, three, six months from now.

(24:56 – 25:25)

Um, if this worked and I, I put all of my faith into God universe source and miracles, and I just asked God for this miracle that over the next six months, she continues to heal and heal beautifully that this entire surgery worked very, very well, um, to help her scoliosis, to help her carry male formation. And, um, that’s what I pray. Thank you, God, so much.

(25:25 – 26:02)

And friends, the angels, before we go, they are asking you to do this one thing. They are asking you to ask for a miracle. They say every single one of you need your own miracle right now.

And they want you to ask for that miracle. Ask God, ask your angels. If you were to say to me, Julie, I don’t know how to pray.

Just talk and have a conversation with God and your angels. Tell them what it is that you need. Tell them the outcome that you want, what you want as if it’s already here, let them handle the rest because they’ve got it.

(26:02 – 26:56)

And I promise you that they’re going to work those miracles in your life. I love you so incredibly much friends have a beautiful, beautiful blessed day, beautiful souls. We have so many freebies to help serve you, your family and friends want a weekly message from your angels emailed to you.
