[00:00:00] Julie: Hello, beautiful souls. Welcome back to the Angels and Awakening Podcast. I’m your host and author, Julie Janis. Friends, today we have a beautiful episode. Can’t wait to share with [00:00:11] you an angel story about a dog, and you’re just gonna. Love, love, love this episode. Um, it’s just you and I today. I, uh, wanted to let you know [00:00:22] on Monday there’s gonna be an entire episode all about so many miracles.

[00:00:27] I cannot wait for you to hear this story on Monday’s episode about everything that [00:00:33] happened in New York. Friends, there was just one miracle after another after another. I went with a friend for a walk yesterday. And was just telling her the story of [00:00:44] everything that happened. And I look over and she’s just crying and I go, oh my gosh.

[00:00:49] And she’s like, Julie, these are the biggest miracles. You have to share this with the audience. So [00:00:55] that’ll be Monday’s episode. Um, there’s no intro, no outro, no ad today, just you and I, but I wanted to let you know that because we have more of an idea of where, what [00:01:06] everything’s gonna be happening, um, when everything’s gonna be happening.

[00:01:09] I am host. Uh, angel Reiki School in person September 20th and [00:01:17] 21st. It’s a Saturday and Sunday. Uh, that is September 20th and 21st, 2025. Angel Reiki School in person. This is where you learn [00:01:28] how to become a healer yourself, friends. Everybody comes into this program for different reasons. I’d say nine times outta 10 people come in and they’re like, [00:01:39] Julie, I don’t know why I’m here.

[00:01:40] I just feel like God, universe Source wanted me to be here and to learn this. I am teaching you the gifts. Of how to connect with all of [00:01:50] your angels, how to bring through their messages to other people. Also, I’m teaching you that weekend energy healing, um, reiki energy healing. I [00:02:01] teach pieces of chios energy healing so that you can leave that weekend and start your own practice.

[00:02:09] Some people leave with different gifts, right? [00:02:12] Because everybody has these very, very. Different spiritual gifts and they begin to emerge in this program. So the program certifies you in energy [00:02:23] healing, becoming an angel messenger, yourself and mediumship. And your gifts are your gifts. So they’re gonna start to come out and I keep these groups smaller, uh, the Angel Reiki schools so that [00:02:34] I can work with everybody one-on-one and help you really, really develop.

[00:02:38] Now, everybody always says, Julie, can you really learn in a weekend? Of course you can, and you get access to the eight [00:02:45] week program afterwards, online, uh, complimentary with that. But what I want you to know is absolutely you can. People come in all the time and they’re [00:02:56] like, I don’t know if I have any gifts.

[00:02:58] I think other people are more talented than I am, and by the end, they’re doing incredible, incredible things. Bringing through readings to [00:03:07] the taxi driver on the way back to the airport, um, bringing through, uh, a person’s mother’s, um, dying words. That she said, uh, at the end of her life to a, a [00:03:18] client. And so there’s just so much that you come into within your own spiritual gifts in this program.

[00:03:25] I want you to know that it’s, if you feel called, [00:03:29] it’s meant for you. And as you go through the program, you’re gonna see, you know, some people do feel called to start their own business. Some people feel called to help and to serve others. [00:03:40] Some people feel called to go through the Angel Reiki school because they’re taking what they learn and really all of their spiritual gifts, how to use their intuition to the max and bringing it [00:03:51] into their career.

[00:03:53] Um, lawyers, accountants, people. Every single different walk of life, uh, different careers have come through the program and they [00:04:02] say that they’re able to do so much more good in the world because of the gifts that they developed in the Angel Reiki school. [00:05:12] Let, let, let me say that it’s the Hilton Oakbrook Hills Resort and Conference Center. I love, love, [00:05:19] love, love, love that hotel. Um, this is gonna be a women’s retreat for those who really want to dive into what’s my purpose in this world. Um. What is it that [00:05:30] I really want to use my life to help and to serve?

[00:05:34] If you’ve feel, been feeling like you don’t know what your purpose is, maybe you’re be, you’ve been stuck [00:05:41] in fear or self-doubt, or maybe you know what your purpose is, but you don’t know what your next steps are to take over the next. [00:06:27] Alright, friends diving into today. I am reading to you, uh, angel story. I just wanna give a big shout out to the [00:06:36] publisher. Um, there is a woman who was named, she passed away, but her name was Joan Wester Anderson, and she was the author of the New York Times Bestseller, where [00:06:47] Angels Walk. She wrote a book in 2011.

[00:06:50] So the title of this book is Doggone Darling Dashes. It says, are. [00:06:58] Ideal dogs for small children as they are already stretched and pulled to such a great length that children cannot do much to harm one, one way or another. [00:07:09] Robert Benchley, that’s a quote as you start into this beautiful angel story. It says, when Colt of Kennewick, Washington set out with his friend Josh for a day of [00:07:20] fishing, he had no inkling of what they would catch.

[00:07:23] The men were up to their knees offshore on a lake when one of them spotted something small, brown and wiggly, struggling towards them in the [00:07:31] water. It was a puppy qui. Quickly, Colt scooped it up. It was a little dash hound. Uh, obviously running out of strength to keep paddling. If the men [00:07:42] hadn’t come along, it wouldn’t have lived much longer.

[00:07:45] The puppy was shivering, so Colt tugged him inside his shirt. We’ve gotta go find his owner. He told Josh, who agreed. [00:07:53] Someone among the hikers and picnics must have been awfully concerned right now, but oddly, as they walked from family to family holding up the dog, no one seemed to be missing. An older [00:08:04] couple admitted they had shooted away because it had gotten into their belongings and they’d been seeing the pup scamper into the water with its stubby legs.

[00:08:13] The pup had run out of solid [00:08:15] ground very quickly. Colt had to get it into warm and fed. Both men lived in trailers, but Josh had more room, so he took the dash hound home. As it happened, [00:08:26] Josh couldn’t keep the dog. His park owner had a rule against having pets. Ours didn’t. Colt’s wife Diane said, and over the years we had been taking in lost dogs and kept them until [00:08:37] their, until their owners came.

[00:08:38] But this dash hound was very small and might not have anyone looking for him. Perhaps they would end up keeping him. We had a family meeting and the the [00:08:48] vote was yes. Diane said, sure, they had heard all of the little jokes about wiener dogs, but this one seemed especially sweet natured. [00:08:59] But this one seemed especially sweet natured and it loved to cuddle just the kind of dog children needed.

[00:09:05] They named him Jojo and he settled in without much trouble. The [00:09:10] kids soon noticed that his ears usually expressed his feelings when happy. He does a perky droop when hungry. His ears are [00:09:21] gathered at the top of his head side, said Diane, when in trouble or embarrassed, they are out and fanned. We call them elephant ears.

[00:09:29] Jojo was simple to read, which [00:09:32] made him even easier. In fact, as the months went on, he developed a bit of an attitude as if he were in charge of the family. He was fiercely protective of the children [00:09:43] and chose then 8-year-old Kaylin as his bunk mate. They soon slipped. They soon slipped into a routine.

[00:09:51] Jojo was, would sleep with Kaylin, [00:09:54] but would come out every hour or so to check on Colt and Diane as they watched television. If we were up too late for his liking, he would wait patiently at our feet until we went [00:10:05] to bed. Diane says if the couple stayed up later than jojo thought acceptable, he would sigh dramatically and return to Kaylyn’s room and defeat.

[00:10:15] [00:10:16] In an hour or so, he would be back to prod Colt and Diane again. But the pattern changed. One evening in February of 2010, it was past midnight, the trailer [00:10:27] was quiet and Diane and Colt were watching the end of a movie. Jojo came out of Kaylin’s room, somewhat agitated. The adults were surprised, Jojo. [00:10:38] Had been fed and had already gone outside.

[00:10:40] Diane said it wasn’t like him to be so busy and up so late. Diane told him to go back to bed and being the [00:10:49] obliging pooch that he was, he obeyed, but only for a few moments. Then he reappear again, almost pacing if a dog could look. Worried he did. Diane said [00:11:00] Jojo. Went back and forth four times each time Returning to Kaylin’s room.

[00:11:04] It was then that Diane notices ears, they were straight down, which in some breeds denotes [00:11:11] danger. By now, the drowsy couple realized that something was really wrong. Jojo had returned to Kaylin’s room, and when they entered, the dog was on top of her bed, shoving his nose [00:11:22] against her and trying to wake her up.

[00:11:24] We didn’t see anything out of the ordinary, said Diane, but when I smelled an odor of burning rubber. Um, I knew something was wrong, and when she touched the [00:11:33] wall at the head of Kaylin’s bed, it felt hot. Colt yanked the alarm clock and lamp out of the wall, and a puff of smoke followed. Get out. He yelled quickly.

[00:11:43] [00:11:44] He awakened the children while Diane phoned nine one one grabbed their two cats and jojo and the family fled. Firefighters quickly arrived, Diane and the [00:11:55] children and the animals awaited in their car while Colt took the firemen into the trailer to show them where the smell was coming from and where the electricity could be shut off.

[00:12:05] When they [00:12:06] came out, they told us that Kailyn’s outlet was a minutes away from catching fire. Diane said, holding their children and their pets closely. The couple looked at each other. There had [00:12:17] been no smoke or flames, no injuries, or even deaths because of dog jojo. The bossy little dog with her short stubby Lakes had saved the entire family.[00:12:28]

[00:12:28] Jojo continues to be an absolute treat of a dog, says Diane. I am forever grateful that he floated by my husband and Josh so that we could share his precious [00:12:39] little life. Hmm. Don’t you just love that? I love, love, love stories, angel stories, and we are sharing more of ’em.
