I’m your host and author, Julie Janis. And friends we have my friend today, Catherine. Um, [00:02:00] I met her ’cause she’s a client in the membership. She also came to the spiritual retreat, but she’s been helping me too over the last year with Angel stories and just. Putting together these angel stories, um, which takes a lot of work.

And Katherine, I’m so excited for the audience to get to meet you. Welcome to the show. Thank

Katherine: you. I’m so happy to be here. Um, today I’m gonna start with, uh, I just, I have three angel stories to tell you. Yes.

Julie: And then you have to tell that story that you told at the retreat too, because it was the first time anybody ever told me that.

And, and it just. Warmed my heart so much. It’s gonna come.

Katherine: You wait for it. Oh, okay. Okay. It’s gonna come with all the enthusiasm in the world. I promise you. It. It’s gonna come twice. Oh, yay. I can’t wait to hear. Um, I jotted notes down so I wouldn’t lose my way. And [00:03:00] so Yeah, I got it. I’ve got it worked in.

Julie: All right. I’ll let you take it

Katherine: away. You share your first Angel story? Yeah. Um, yes. So a little historical background. Um. I grew up in a family that did not, uh, that who, whose love I did not know how to understand. I’m not saying they weren’t loving, I just. I couldn’t find it. Um, a lot. There was mental illness.

My mom was so sad all the time and I just wasn’t getting, um, like developed emotionally or responded to or. Like I wasn’t getting grown. I wasn’t getting grown with an emotional sense of security and safety. I will say I’m super, super grateful for my upbringing. It shaped everything about me and it was really good in many ways.

Um, I. But, so that’s one thing. The second thing is I had a gift, which I [00:04:00] learned about when I was six, um, which is that I could see things like a movie for the future that was laid out before me. Um, the first time that ever happened was my mom and I were gonna go for a walk. I was six. I told her, if we go for a walk, our dog is gonna have a problem while we’re away.

And if we don’t go, we can stay. And then that won’t happen. And we just, we, she just did not know what I was talking about. And we went on our walk. Well, we came home and our doctor, our dog had had a medical problem and had to be treated and I was. Very sad and upset and frustrated. ’cause I told her like I told you, and if we didn’t go, this wouldn’t happen.

Like we could have prevented this. Um, you know, I’m a 6-year-old, but, um, I. That was the first time I remember seeing something and wanting to [00:05:00] prevent it, but couldn’t. And um, that would go on, you know, for the rest of my life and still. Um, but it kind of set me up for feeling a little bit alone and unheard because it happened a few more times and then I started because I was little wondering if.

Rather than I was seeing the future, but more like, what if I’m causing these things? Because I thought of ’em. So then I thought, well, I’ve gotta shut, I gotta shut this down and I’m certainly not telling anybody about it. So, um. Uh, the way I came up with, to shut it down was in fifth grade. I just started to smoke pot every single day and I just blurred myself out a little bit.

Um, I still succeeded, you know, I did well in school and sports and all the things, but I was able to live just a little more checked out so that [00:06:00] these, I didn’t want these things. I didn’t wanna cause these things for people. Well, I know, you know, obviously I wasn’t, but I didn’t then ’cause I was little.

So just kind of putting those two things on the back burner. Um, I stopped smoking pot when I was 20. I was like, okay, I can face life now. I can grow myself up. I’m done with college. I have a therapist. I don’t need to blur out anymore. I can be here now and figure out. Who I am and what’s going on. So that was my 20-year-old self.

And um, but remember my mom was really sad and I’m a grownup. I’m in my early twenties and I had always worried about her. I thought of it as sadness, but now I’m an adult and I’m like, this is more than sadness. Um. [00:07:00] Again, I can kind of see how this is going, but I can’t stop it. And that, ooh, that theme was driving me nuts in my life.

Um, I started to feel her passing coming and I was still working with a therapist and I told her. I’m gonna receive the news in a phone call at night when I’m sleeping and I don’t want to. So the best she could come up with, um, landline was just unplug the phone, then you won’t receive the call. So that’s what I did.

So when the call came in, no one could reach me. But my uncle, her brother, my mom’s brother came to the door. And said, your mom is in the hospital, she was alive. Um, I was, and do you wanna go? And I was like, no, uh, no, [00:08:00] no. Um, empaths do not like to be in the hospital. It’s really jarring. So, um, I stayed home, I was in bed.

I was sort of very, very uncomfortable in my body and. I had this vision that I had a, a light purple pastel scarf in my hand, and she had the other end of the scarf in her hand, and I felt her let go of it. Which left me with my end, but she didn’t have her end anymore. And then in that moment, in that exact moment, I knew, oh my God, she let go.

She’s gone. And then, then of course, like minutes later, the phone rang. So I did get my nighttime call. Your mom didn’t make it as the words at first. I mean, even though I knew with every fiber of my being at first, I, I [00:09:00] think I literally said, didn’t make what? What do you mean? She didn’t make it? But I knew, I knew.

So that was, um, another incident where I felt that one coming my whole life. I felt that coming my entire life and I really tried hard to make her wanna stay. Mm-hmm. All my life. Yeah. But I couldn’t. And um, so now, um, I’m a motherless daughter. I’m fine, you know, for the most part. Fine. Um, I did okay. I have done o Okay with that.

Fast forward, um, I. 12 years I’m married, um, happy. Um, and I have a cough, a bad cough, seeing an [00:10:00] allergist, trying to figure out why I’m coughing with my dad one weekend and he’s like. This cough has gone on too long. That is not a good cough. You have to get that figured out. I’m like, well, seeing a doctor, I’m seeing an allergist.

He’s like, Nope, you need a different doctor. So I actually took him up on his advice, got a different doctor. I was at a doctor’s appointment and she’s like, checks chest x-ray. And then she’s like, yeah, this isn’t good. Uh, we need a ct CT scan. Right now it’s like this day was like, there’s this 10 o’clock appointment and now all of a sudden I’m having a CT scan and then there’s something on it and it’s not good, and then I have to go to the hospital because it’s really not good and.

Calling my husband and later, later, you know, his coworkers told [00:11:00] me like he just went white and he’s driving in rush hour traffic and I’m, now he has to take me to the hospital. And there’s two things about this story. One, it’s the first time in my life I didn’t see something coming. I was blindsided. I did not see this coming in my wildest visions.

Second thing. As we’re driving to the hospital, Sarah McLaughlin’s song In the Arms of An Angel, guess what? Until this day, like 25 minutes ago, I googled the name of that song ’cause I wanted to tell about it. I didn’t know it was called Angel. That’s what it’s called. That was playing on the radio in the car.

It was raining and we, my husband and I were both silent and he was taking me to the hospital and I had to stay overnight in the [00:12:00] hospital. I had to stay there and they had to figure out, it was stage three non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and they just needed to take care of it because it was like moving in toward my heart space and it just had to be dealt with.

Um. I was scared. I was blindsided and scared, and I could not believe this was happening to me. And I was laying, I told James, just go home, like take care of our animals and be home. And I was alone. I was laying on my side and an angel came and sat next to my bed with his face, six inches from my face.

And. He was very specific looking. He looked like the love child of Kevin Costner and Jesus. If they had a, a little baby boy [00:13:00] who grew up into a man, this is how he would look. He had on blue jeans, he had his button down, denim shirt tucked in with a belt and his face and his hair. He was weathered and beautiful and never said a word fixed on my eyes.

We just locked eyes and there was the kindest, most sort of reassuring face. I’ve never seen a face like that again, and I knew. Everything was gonna be okay. Like I didn’t know how it was gonna go, what it was gonna look like for the next year, and it wasn’t my favorite year, but I still had reassurance through every step of it that it’s gonna be okay.

It’s gonna be okay. Um. [00:14:00] And it was, um, it’s, you know, 20 years later, it’s all fine. Um, that was the first time I ever saw an angel. I did not ever tell anybody I didn’t know. Like, I just don’t even know how you tell someone about that. And I also just felt like it was just for me, it was my experience and I don’t need to hear anybody else’s feedback or story about it.

It was my gift. So, um. Fast forward 20 years, which is where we are now. I had a situation, uh, within like the last year and a half that rocked my soul in the way that those other two, uh, incidents, those other two events rocked my soul. This one rocked me even more, and it wasn’t my story. So I can’t really tell it, but it can say.

It took [00:15:00] me right back to a thing is gonna happen. I can see it, I know how it’s gonna play out and I can prevent it. Mm-hmm. And if we just come up with this plan and we follow the plan and we do these things, ’cause I know what these things are, we can prevent it. And I worked it so hard. I worked it from every angle and I was on it.

But the person whose story, it was not so much, it’s their life. Yeah. They didn’t need my help. They didn’t want my help, and they kind of shut the door. Um, because I was aggressive, because I could see it, it did play out poorly, it played out verbatim. How I saw it would play out and I didn’t get to stop it.

And, um, the outcome wasn’t great, but it wasn’t mine. And [00:16:00] I was so miserable in my body, in the space between what I thought we could accomplish and make it good, and the space between what it actually was. Mm-hmm. And I went on a search, I’m like, I can’t live with this misery. I need something. I need something.

I’ve been to church many times. Nothing wrong with it. Never felt the thing I wanted to feel that it looked like other people were feeling. It didn’t feel like a place I wanted to go to have my soul taken care of to connect, like with, um, the greater good. Um, so I started looking around for like podcasts.

And I found one one day, turned it on and I heard [00:17:00] Beautiful souls. I’m your host and author, Julie Janus. Friends, I love you so much. And I was like, oh my God, I believe her. I believe her. Those words that vibrational quality, like in my family, no one had ever said, and still hasn’t to this day, said, I love you.

So the quality of love, like, like what is it? What is love? Like my family did love me. But I didn’t know how to know and words, the words have meant nothing to me in my life. If someone were to say, I hear you. I see you, I understand you, and you belong. That’s my love. Okay. And that’s what I heard in Julie’s voice.

I was like, she’s, there’s love here. I’m going straight for it. [00:18:00] It’s exactly what I need. I need to be understood. I need to be loved, and I’m gonna go to this place because I’m hearing that. So, gosh, I mean, I signed up for that Angel membership. Like there’s the podcast that we’re all listening to and being part of now, but there’s so much more.

Um, you can literally sign up for, I think, um, an amazing price point and just get on these weekly live talks and. Make connections and friends with other people whose souls matter so much to them and who are having angel experiences, and it feels like you can belong there and find love and connection.

And it’s not like a guru culty thing, it’s, it’s. It’s just a place for people to gather and there’s a teacher who’s really smart [00:19:00] and articulate and beautiful, and she has amazing guests on her podcast, and we just all learn together. That’s what it feels like and. It was the thing I was looking for in the moment, and I’ve delved into it.

I attended a retreat, uh, um, uh, just a retreat where there was like 40 of us together for three days, and it was more teaching and learning and sharing.

Julie: Yeah. The spiritual retreat that we just held in November, or no, October. Yeah. Yes.

Katherine: October 4th through the sixth in Chicago. If there’s another one. I mean, you just can’t miss it.

You just cannot miss it. It, it was life changing for every woman there, and I mean. I’m not a hyperbolic person who’s like, it was the best, um, like things aren’t always just like the best, but this kind of was oddly, it was just kind of the best.

Julie: You know, what was so wild [00:20:00] is, um, well, Carol wrote me this week and she’s like, she said something that.

I was like, wow, that, that’s just put into the most beautiful word she said. I’ve never experienced God universe source in that way before. And I, that just hit me like a ton of bricks to my heart. Um, but I loved how we were just all there for each each other and just. It felt like soul family. So like we were like rubbing each other’s backs of just like support, you know, you have your, your hand on a person’s back as they’re speaking and we like hugged all weekend and shared and there was no shaming, there’s not like no low vibrations whatsoever.

It was just keeping people in that high vibration. Um. And I loved the aha moments, like when Sandra was in the middle of the circle. And that’s what the angels kept showing me is like, put everybody into a circle because [00:21:00] that’s where we just need to have this like heart to heart connection all weekend.

And then I got this vision of me pulling like, um, we have this pull, uh, this couch that pulls out into like a queen size. It’s not like a bed like the old school, but it just looks like a full couch, but it’s like a queen-sized couch. So at night we can just all cuddle and I have these big plushy blankets on ’em and pillows, so I just grabbed those blankets and pillows off of it and put it into the middle of the circle at the event because I wanted people to just have a, a place to come and sit with me.

And, um, bringing people home to those realizations of their own worth and their own value and how much they’re loved was just so powerful to get to do all weekend long. Um, and just the hugs and the [00:22:00] love between all of us, it was amazing.

Katherine: I have to agree. And yes, that plushy circle of blankets and pillows, and it wasn’t just the texture, it was the colors and just, I think everyone just wanted the chance to just sit on it and touch it, you know?

I mean, it was amazing, um, for all of the things you just said.

Julie: Oh, that’s amazing. Yes. Oh my goodness. Well. And let’s go back to your story a little bit because going back to that [00:25:00] 6-year-old Catherine, you did not cause any of that.

Um, it’s interesting because doing this work, spirit says you have to keep people safe. And the fact of the matter is, is that. People listening. If there’s 10 million people who are gonna listen over the course of a year. Some people do have, um, different mental stuff going on, or they have different hormone stuff at any different point.

And so you have to keep people safe. And that’s why I say loving positive messages only. Um. Like if you get negative messages within your mind, that’s the egoic mind loving positive messages, only our God universe source. There are some people with the gift of premonition I. That can see things play out before they play out.

And um, I’ve had [00:26:00] that before as well. I can’t control it. Like I can’t make it happen. Whenever it’s there, it’s just there and I’ve learned the energy of it where you just know, you just have this instinctive. Knowingness. Um, and then something will come out in the news and, and you’ll like, just know that it’s true.

I get it on a big scale. I get it on a little scale when I’m doing readings with people. Those are some of times the things that you have to share. ’cause you’re like, if you go this way, this is what happens, and this is the way that this unfolds. And if you go this way, this is what happens. And this is the way that it unfolds.

And I know exactly what you mean when that’s closer to home. ’cause it’s kind of easier to give that. To people and help them understand it when you don’t have to be around them 24 7 and watch [00:27:00] them go through it. And I don’t mean that in an insensitive way, but it is an entirely different energy to know something is gonna happen or something’s coming up or somebody’s going down the wrong path.

Um, and to. Be around people who just don’t wanna hear it whatsoever and don’t want the message. So what do you do with that? I mean, that’s very, very heavy in the part, the, the heart of the person who has to receive it and just be with that knowingness. Um, I think that there are times where God presents different opportunities.

To share different things. ’cause sometimes, and the way that I’m thinking about this is I’ve had it happen a couple times recently where something was immediate like, no, this person needs this message right away ’cause this is coming up right away. Or, um. [00:28:00] This is gonna play out over the next 18 years.

Right? And so you have a little bit more time to plant seeds within the 18 years and help people come to something. But I. It’s hard and the only way that I can explain it is reading the book, the Giver. I think when I was like in fifth grade that, um, that’s the energy of it. You hold a lot of other people’s energies.

It’s not always easy to do this work. Um, and you also can’t just run around. Telling everybody this is gonna happen and this is gonna happen and this is gonna happen. Like, it doesn’t work like that either. There’s just little things that come through. So I think that the way that it gets, um, kind of misinterpreted sometimes by people within the community is.

Some folks, I’ll hear ’em say, well, Julie, the Angels [00:29:00] are channeling messages now to me 24 7. I can’t spend any time with my family. I can’t eat dinner with them because the angels are just, and I’m like, no, no, no, no, no. That is not the Angels, which is one thing that we worked on this weekend is that 20, uh.

No, sorry, not 25%. 50% of your life is about you being here for you. No matter how much you’re working with the angels. The angels want you to enjoy your life and be present in the moment and feel peace in your body. And feel peace in your heart. So, um. I think it’s important for people to know that even if you do have the gift of Premonition, the angels aren’t asking you to be a messenger in a way where you have to go find a TV station to broadcast the message, um, or keep beating somebody else’s head with it, you know, until they get it.

All you can do is say it. If [00:30:00] they’re not open and you feel within their heart that they’re not open or receptive to the message, the angels are gonna use other avenues to bring that message through. And where you have to be open is that person might come to you later and say, okay, I get it. You knew that this was gonna happen.

I’m open now to talking about it or having that conversation. And that’s where you can, I. Begin to have a dialogue. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. It’s hard though. I totally get it. Catherine, so hard.

Katherine: I’ve learned a lot since I started the angel membership that I don’t actually have to carry. I didn’t really, like, I have used language in my practice as a healer in my healing spaces.

I will sometimes tell people this room is. Full of angels. Right now we are surrounded. We are [00:31:00] just, this room is full, but I didn’t really get that. That includes me too. Like I’m also in this story. My life is completely surrounded by angels. I did not know that. And I have learned that since I started the Angel membership, because I put my intention into, I actually joined so I could learn about that re those relationships.

Yeah. And so now I actually understand that not only I. Are they with me every minute of the day now, but they always have been. And I did not know that. I thought I was completely alone.

Julie: Yeah.

Katherine: And now I know that I wasn’t in an, now I can look back and say, actually I was guided beautifully. Like nothing bad ever happened.

I mean, terrible things, but not really. Mm-hmm. Not to my soul. I’m fully intact. Yes, I’ve been through some stuff, but I’m intact because I was [00:32:00] taken care of, but I didn’t know, and now I. Yeah. Like I know, like I know, like I know like,

Julie: yes. Um, and you can feel it. And I think that that’s a different experience of how to live life with feeling that presence and feeling them guide us and surround us.

And so actually, um, I was just, uh, we’re recording this October 10th and I am still going through and just firming up a couple of things for 2025. But, um, the angels want it to be another. With your angels and there’s new information in there for anybody who’s done it before. And for those who haven’t, we simplified the entire membership because people were like, there’s too many courses and I wanna go through it all at once.

And so, um, if you join the annual membership, you get access to see everything all at once. Um, otherwise you can join at any point and go [00:33:00] through the current month with us. And then you’ll have 60 days to go through that course. Uh, so that there will only be like two courses if you’re a monthly paying member at any one time, so that we’re all going through the same coursework at the same time.

And if you’re a annual member, you have access to see all of the past courses. Um. And, uh, you can go through. Some people like to just kind of go at their own pace. Some people like to work ahead. I’ve got a lot of retirees who are like Julie. I just like wanna sit here and go through everything all day.

Um, and they can do that as well. So I tried to make it that it just fits everybody’s schedule, but we’re. Totally working with all of the angels in so many different ways next year, and I can’t wait for people to dive into it. All right, so we are going through all of this in 2025, and again, you can join at any time, but how to [00:34:00] manifest with your angels through a line co-creation, how to get angelic guidance through oneness.
