Hello, beautiful souls. Welcome back to the angels and awakening podcast. I’m your host and author Julie Jancius and friends today we have on author David Ditchfield, the author of shine on.

He has a miraculous angel story of a near death experience. David, welcome. Thank you for being here on the show. Pleasure to be here. Thanks for inviting me. So I think your story, as I was kind of scanning through is one of everybody’s worst nightmares. And I just want to preface with that, but you have this beautiful way of, just your experience.

I’m going to have you take it away and share what you went through and. What you saw on the other side, of course, well, my, my story actually starts in the UK, at a rail station, in Cambridge, I’d been seeing a friend off at the station and it was a, it was a cold winter’s day. I was helping her onto the car with, with, luggage and stuff and her bags.

I gave her a hug and a kiss to say goodbye. And then we heard the buzzers going for the automatic doors to close. I stepped back, and as I did do, I timed it just wrong, and my coat got trapped in those closing doors. I couldn’t put it free. you know, it was a thick quality coat, and it wasn’t going to come out, whatever I tried.

I yelled out for help, of course. hoping there’d be a guard on that platform, but there wasn’t one that worked on that route, which was unbeknownst to me. So I started banging on the windows, I tried everything and, and then I remember looking through the glass and I could see my friend, who was, Anna, who I was seeing off and I just saw the look of sheer horror in her face.

And the engine started to rev up and I thought at this point, You know, this is it. It’s all going to be over for me. Well, for the first time in my life, I was facing death, you know, and it was a very terrifying moment, of course. I went into fight or flight mode, as I say, you know, and I decided to fight, decided to hang in there.

I was dragged along the platform at great speed. You know, the, the train pulled out. You don’t realize how fast they pull out of a station until you attach to the outside of one. I lost my footing and, eventually I was. Pulled between the space of the platform edge and the speeding train and I went under I went under the wheels And I remember hearing this almighty you sort of rip, you know of my coat and then Under I went, it was like being thrown into a large washing machine at full spin, but it was terrifying and violent and, very painful.

And I still hung in there and I thought, you know, relax your body, just go with this. And that’s exactly what I did. And, eventually I was thrown down onto the ground in between the tracks. as the train was still going hurtling on because it was a very long train it disappeared off down the tracks and and there was happy to be alive amazed that I was alive totally amazed and I remember the feeling like a sensation of like wow you know Looking up at the sky.

It was like a beautiful sky. There was no cloud that day. It was just, and I just felt this real strong connection with nature with the earth, you know, at that moment, and then the pain started to come rushing through me. And before I knew it, the emergency guys were there. They jumped down onto the track and they started cutting through my clothes, got me into an ambulance.

 We’ve sped off down the highway and it was a 25 minute drive until we got to the hospital. But the doctor said, if you hang in there, David, this is the hospital that’s going to save your life. And I said, okay, I’ll do that. You know, we arrived at the hospital and there was a whole team of medics waiting there, you know, in the emergency departments.

And they started to work on me, you know, there was a lot of science, obviously I couldn’t understand anything that they were talking about. So, I knew that it wasn’t all over yet because I could hear fear in their voices, but also I realized I was losing copious amounts of blood. my family arrived in the hospital at that stage, I remember, you know, because just before they were about to wheel me into theater, the consultant said, look, your family are here.

Do you want to see them? I said, yeah, I want to see them. You know, I wanted to, I wanted to see my mother. I needed her right at that point, you know? And it’s like, and she came in and she was in tears. I remember. we, we all got chatting and then right at the back of the room I could see my friend, Anna, looking completely shocked.

And I said, look, I need to speak to her really because she’s been through this. She’s watched this whole thing unfold. So she came over, but I remember her head was shaking from side to side. And she said, I can’t believe you’re alive. He said, I saw you go under, I watched you go under the train and, and I just thought you’re not going to survive this and they even announced it over the speakers that you were dead.

 so she was just like holding my hands, you know, and it was right at this moment, you know, as she held my hands, I left my body. I left the pain. I was in the drama of the hospital and, and I was suddenly in what appeared to be. a beautiful darkened space. It wasn’t foreboding, you know, it was just, it was quite welcoming.

I suddenly figured at this stage, this is it. I am dead. I haven’t made it. This is what happens. This is where we go next. I didn’t fight it and resist it. I’ve since learned that some people do try to resist it because they’ve got too much to come back for, like kids and stuff, which I didn’t have kids at that stage.

But I didn’t want to die, but after all the drama I’ve been through, it just felt so great just to be in this calmness. I looked around and tried to get my bearings and, as I did, I, realized I was being greeted by these beautiful pulsating colors all around me, like little orbs of light, like of yellows, ambers, greens and reds.

And they’ve made me feel calm and they made me feel safe. Then I, looked. To check the, you know, my, my wounds because I knew that my body had been in a bad state. My, my arm had been cut from the elbow down. It had been severed, but everything was fixed. Everything was back in place and not even a single scratch or bruise, you know, everything was fixed.

And I just thought, wow, this is good. you know, my body is, is, is okay. I’m feeling good. I looked down and I realized I was dead. I was no longer clothed. I was covered in this blue, blue sort of satin material, almost like a comfort blanket, you know, and it just, that made me feel very secure.

And I realized I was no longer laid on, on the hospital trolley or whatever you may call it in the U. S. You know, it was, I was like now. On a, on a huge granite rock, it was like a huge kind of like, it was, I describe it as being like something I’d seen, you know, in a movie from, you know, like a medieval altar or something, you know, and it felt surprisingly comfortable to lie on.

So I laid back on this rock and I closed my eyes and I just kind of like felt sense of, safeness and, and, and warmth. Yeah. And then I started to see light coming through my eyelids, you know, like a bright sort of light. And I, and I opened my eyes and I looked up and there were like three symmetrical grids of light hovering above my head, slowly closing in towards me.

And the light was so intense that normally I wouldn’t be able to look into it, you know, in this realm, it would be too bright. Somehow here, it was okay. And I couldn’t take my gaze away. And the reason I couldn’t take my gaze away, because I knew that this was more than just, three grids of light.

They were like, there was a healing energy that was coming from, from the, these grids of light that were just kind of like slowly going over my body and just kind of like healing all the physical wounds, healing the trauma that I just been put through because of course it’s the most terrifying thing that could have ever happened to me at this stage, but I felt this is good, you know, this is healing me, so I closed my eyes, and I went with it, and I went with this, this energy, as time went on, I started to feel, I felt like there was a presence that somebody had suddenly turned up, you know, if you’re, if you’re laid half asleep, and somebody walks into a room, you feel their presence, and that’s what it was like, so I, I lifted my head, and I looked, and there just stood at my feet, you know, here.

was this beautiful angel. It was a, an angelic being. and this Being of light as again, I said being of light because it was because it was it wasn’t like a Perth it was had a physical form. In fact, it was neither the male nor female it was androgynous and this being was looking at me with this pure white blonde hair and the skin that was emanating sort of like a presence of goodness coming from it and I knew this person’s face And I said out loud, I said, I know you don’t I, where do I know you from?

And I just couldn’t put my finger on it, you know, and this. This, angel just looked back at me and smiled with a knowing smile, but I knew that this person was, was here to, to guide me, to look after me. This was like the gatekeeper to my soul, if you like, you know, and so I knew I was in good company. So I closed my eyes again and laid back on this huge rock.

As time went on, I suddenly felt the presence of more people had arrived and so I opened my eyes once again and either side of me were two female forms, this time two female angels, and the girl to my right Was wearing like a simple brown dress with long brown hair and dark skin. whereas the girl to my left, she was more sort of, wearing beautiful traditional dress, like a sort of a very white sort of dress.

 she was more sort of like sort of, Asian Indian, American Indian, maybe South American. I don’t know that kind of look about her and, and they just had their hands slowly hovering over the consoles on my body. And the energy that was coming from their hands was just so powerful. It was like a, it was a beautiful energy of love.

It was like, it was like a love, all the different sort of forms I’d love in I’d encountered in my life before, whether it was from my mother, from my partner, from my pet cat, or my best friend, whatever, you know, all those different types of love was all now coming from their hands. and I realized that they were not only healing the trauma that I’d just been through physically, but they are actually healing all the emotional wounds that I carried with me throughout my whole life.

We all do, obviously, there’s no escaping that. We all carry, you know, baggage as we call it, you know, with us, you know, and so they were like, peeling off all these layers of baggage bit by bit, piece by piece. And they were like getting down to the pure essence of my soul. And they were like healing me in a way I’d never felt before.

I’d never felt so complete. I’d never felt so grounded. I’d never felt so light. It was just amazing. It was just, it was just a beautiful sensation. So I just lay there and continue to bathe in all this. Beautiful healing balm that was, that was being given to me. then I started to think about my family.

I started to wonder, you know, how they were. You know, my mother would have been in tears, you know, she’d been distraught. You know, they’d all been really shocked and upset by what had happened. And I sort of figured, well, if I’m dead now, if I’ve passed on, then, they’re going to be upset big time, aren’t they?

So I tried to edge my way over the side of this huge rock and I looked down. And when I did look down, I didn’t see them. So initially I was disappointed because I wanted to try and connect with them. But it was okay because what I did see was the most incredible sight. It was like a, it was a huge waterfall of stars.

And when I say a waterfall of stars, it was like the size of Niagara Falls, Victoria Falls. But instead of billions of tons of water cascading over the top, it was Billions of stars sparkling and shining and shooting stars slowly gliding over and I thought wow, I thought I’m not in a small darkened space that I figured initially, I’m actually in the universe itself and I felt the energy of the universe I felt as one with with the universe and I was moving forward with it at this beautiful pace and I looked down and I tried to fix my gaze because The further I looked, I realized I was looking through one galaxy into another, you know, I was looking into infinity and suddenly colors were forming nebulas like I’d never seen before in my life, you know, I paid no interest in the start of the universe, you know, to me before the universe was that simple.

that blank sort of piece of blackness you look up at the sky sometimes at night with sparkling stars no these were like beautiful formations of colors and and nebulas and uh so yeah this was just like amazing you know and i was just feeling like i was on the most incredible journey that i’ve ever experienced i could never experience anything like this before you know I tried to pull myself back over again and, and I remember saying to myself, rather than going into a sense of, like, panic or, oh, no, I can’t see my family.

There was none of that. There was no sort of, like, there were no negative feelings anymore. And all I could feel was, like, I remember saying to myself, okay, well, I can’t see them now, but you know, they will get through this and hopefully I’ll get to see them here at some stage. And if I don’t, it doesn’t matter because they’ll enjoy all these incredible, beautiful sights that I am and experiences, physically and emotionally.

I pulled myself over and, I laid back down again and, as I laid down and closed my eyes, time went on and then I suddenly felt a sensation of of, something very, very powerful. And this was the most profound moment of the whole near death experience, was right at the end. I felt like every single molecule of my body was starting to vibrate with love.

And it was like unconditional love. It was just incredible. So I lifted my head once more and I looked and just beyond the angel stood at my feet there, was a huge tunnel, Coming through the universe. It was a tunnel of white light that was surrounded by very dramatic flames that were slowly sort of circulating around the perimeter.

and I just thought, wow, normally this would be something that could be quite terrifying to look at, especially with all these dramatic flames. But again, There was no sense of fear or negativity. I just felt excitement and, and I was, and I just got this energy that was coming from this, which is so strong as it got closer and closer to me.

 for the first time in my life, I felt the presence of God. I felt like I was just really, close to God and this energy of love that was coming through me was the energy of God that was just rushing through and giving me this feeling of total of elation and uh and I was at one totally at one and it was at that point that That it came rushing back into my body.

I was back in the hospital, you know, you know that all the beautiful lights and colors that I’d seen out there in this other realm were now replaced by fluorescent strip that was like felt like it was screaming into my eyes and the noise and the drama of the hospital was just like overkill to my ears and then the pain of course came rushing back and it rushed right through my body.

Yeah, there it was, back in the Earth’s realm. This is incredible. I, I want to draw our readers to just kind of tune into a couple of things that you said. On the other side, you could think, you were conscious, you were aware, you could see, you could feel. You, it seems like you experienced, change as you felt, that emotional healing kind of take out the, the past heavy emotions and just heal you.

 I thought it was interesting too, how. It was simultaneously, you were one with all that is, and yet you had a separate consciousness as well. And kind of that individual thinking, and, and that feeling of just love and God universe source and the vibration that you describe, I love it so much.

I think that this is all stuff that we can get to even without a near death experience. And I think that this is what the divine and our lives are for is to live this life as heaven on earth. here and now, what do you think? I totally agree with that fact. You know, I say in all my podcast interviews that I do that you don’t have to go under a train or have a dramatic accident like this, you know, to have a near death experience or a spiritual awakening, you know, a spiritual awakening can come to us all, you know, and we can all be We can all tune into that energy.

you know, we had a taste of it, you know, when, when the pandemic happened, you know, you know, that was the first time the whole world went into a, a state of like, wow, you know, we were all scared. A lot of people were, didn’t know what was gonna happen next. And so a lot of people were, we all had to stop working our lives to stops.

Their thinking mind stopped and that’s when everybody went into that moment where people were starting to appreciate nature. People were turning around saying I’m, I’m going to start baking bread again. I’m going to start cooking for my family. I’m going to educate them and I’m going to start taking up whatever it was, painting or, or even going out and farming my own land, you know.

It’s within us all to find that especially at moments when we feel like life is getting really, really tough for us. one thing to remember that is that out of all sort of darkness, you know, the dark night of the soul is one phrase that people use, but out of that comes enlightenment, you know, out of that comes spiritual awakening.

 it’s just the law of God. It’s the law of universe. You know, I mean, the thing to remember, that is, When I talked about being part of the universe and feeling that sensation of being out there, that’s when I realized that we are all connected with the universe.

And we’ve forgotten that, you know, we’ve forgotten that we’re animals and all the animal kingdom all around us. So they all tune in with the universe, you know, they all, all the birds know when to migrate each year. And that’s the energy of the universe telling them what to do. Whereas with us, we’ve got so used to setting our alarm clocks to our watches or our cell phones or whatever, you know.

So we’re all part of the universe and we’re all part of that universal love and that universal energy. So yeah. Yeah. I heard that in your story too, when you, said a couple of times that you heard when you were under the train, just go with it. And when you were on the other side, there was a moment where you said, Just go with it.

And I believe that the angels communicate with us and the divine communicates with us through our own internal voice. But a lot of times through Hollywood and different movies and different shows, producers and that. Entertainment world has tried to make it seem like it’s an other worldly voice, which as I’ve done almost 600 episodes of this podcast, happens to a couple of people, but it’s more, rare, more so you hear the divine through that.

 I wondered if you thought that the color orbs that you were seeing, I know you differentiated the angels versus the colors of light, but do you think that those colors of light were angels as well? yeah, but in different form. They were there to make me feel safe, because obviously I was in a completely new environment.

And, they did, they made me feel like, it’s okay, you know, you’re in a safe place, you’re in good hands. whereas the three angels that I talked about, who were healing me, I felt that they’d been with me throughout the whole of my life and beyond, you know, that they’d worked with me throughout and I just hadn’t been able to connect with them because I hadn’t tried, you know, I had no faith before, you know, so, you know, when things went wrong in my life, I always look for the quick fix, like lots of us like say, this, we got to get this fixed now quick, you know, or if things go terribly wrong, hey, I’m going to have a drink and stuff like that, you know, whereas I realized that these, beautiful angels have been with me throughout and they’ve been working with me, but, but now I’m aware of that I work with them.

So I call upon them when I’m challenged in my life, I’m aware that they’re there and I work with them and I’m not afraid to connect with them. I’m not afraid to ask them, you know, for help. And I think that’s something that’s really important, you know, because, they’re there to help us.

They want to help us just like I said, the universe wants to help us. The universe wants us to recreate and keep moving forward. You know, that’s how, you know, everything happens like, you know, in nature, how we get leaves falling off trees in the fall and then we get the spring and then we get the summertime, you know, that’s the universe recreating and the universe wants to recreate through us also.

Yeah. maybe you could explain to people too. How do you work with them? Do you sit down with them in your mind and meditation to connect with your angels because you saw them visually on the other side? Do you see them visually when you connect with them? you know, it’s funny. A lot of times people People ask me, Julie, how do you pray?

And I say, there’s no wrong way to pray. And it’s not that you’re praying to your angels, but it’s just talking. It’s just communication. Exactly. Yeah. you know, when I communicate with ’em, you know, I’m humble and, uh, when I speak to them, but I don’t go in with a, a sense of feeling like I’m not worthy of their help.

You know, I think that’s the most important thing. I think it’s important to feel worthy and, and feel worthy of their love and, and their support, you know, and be humble with it. when I first came around from, from the, the anesthetic ones afterwards, you know, when I, when they operated on me, I remember lying in the hospital room.

And of course, I was contemplating what had just happened going onto the train. It was a big thing to deal with as a human being. But. All I could focus on really was what had just happened. I knew nothing about near death experiences or anything, you know, and I thought, am I the only person this has happened to?

And of course, I realized now, not, you know, and I was really actually quite scared I was going to forget it all, because I thought I’ve got to share this with people, and I’ve got to find out, and I remember saying to myself, what is my mission? What do I need to do now, you know? So I thought I’m going to do a painting.

I’d never done anything like this before, you know, I’m not trained as an artist. So I just thought I’m going to paint it. I’m going to do one of those big sort of Michelangelo Renaissance style paintings, you know. And so when I got out of hospital and I was well enough and that’s exactly what I did. I got a huge canvas and I started to put this painting together.

And of course I was apprehensive at first because I didn’t want to mess this up. But you know what, once I started painting it was coming together so well. And I realized I was being helped. I realized that my, my angels were helping me to bring this together. And they were appearing in this painting. You know, I was painting these, this image of my, my guides and my angels and stuff.

And so I would sit back each time when it started to come together. And I go, Oh, thank you so much. I still do. I mean, I’ve been, I’ve been, I’m now an artist and a musician. It’s become quite a prolific.

so I started painting, I couldn’t stop from then, I became prolific, that’s what I do now, I, I paint and, write music and it’s, and all that came through because I was connecting with my guides and asking them for help if I hit, you know, if I needed more guidance, I’m, I’m bringing that together, and it’s just trusting in it and just trusting things are meant to be and things will happen and come along, you know,

was really delighted. I said, because, you know, I wanted my paintings to start reaching people so I could talk about what happened through my artwork. And so that’s what I started to do, and people would come and look at my paintings, and I’d start to exhibit them.

And then, since started, once my book came out, I started doing interviews and podcasts, and then, and then I got approached by the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D. C. last year, and they wanted to loan one of my paintings for an exhibition. called Science and Scripture, and that was great. That was such an honor for me, you know, just to have them approach me and say, we want to use one of your near death experience paintings.

So, so one of the first paintings I did is, has been out there, it’s just come back, it’s been out there for a year. So that was lovely, reaching even more people and it’s because it’s not all about me as an artist, David as an artist, it’s more about Literally, my message to getting out to as many people as possible because right from that very first night when I woke in the hospital, I just thought, I want to tell as many people about this as possible.

There was nothing about me thinking that I was worried that people might think this is a crazy, Story or whatever. I thought, no, it’s just too big. It’s too important. So yeah. Amazing. Can you tell everybody the angels keep asking, can you summarize your message in a couple of sentences to the audience?

And also can you share with the audience where they can find your artwork to just see this beautiful angelic, lead creations and also where can they find you in your book?

one of the biggest messages to bring back and that is that what I felt and while I was told is that we are all loved all of us, you know, every single one of us is loved and, that once we realize that that love is there and we accept it and we invite it in.

And allow it to come through, well then we start to find self love, and once you find self love and you find self worth, then you’re able to start sort of allowing, your, a spiritual awakening, and allowing yourself to understand what Different things you may be able to do with your life, you know that if you’re not comfortable with it That is you know, you may feel that you that you want to move from the place you’re in in your life But once you find all those different tools will start to come into play be patient as well, you know allow these answers to come through to you

because I mean I didn’t think i was going to be a painter and i also started writing music for orchestra believe it or not as well which was the second sort of bow to it all and i didn’t ask for that it came it just kind of came to me and and i just thought i was going to write a song first of all about my my near death experience but it became a symphony which is another story in itself so if people want to listen to my music you can Stream that symphony for free, on my website and look at my paintings.
